We believe the Bible, as the Word of God, is our only creed and the final authority for Christian faith and living.  We believe the following statements are basic truths and essential to life in Christ.

1. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.  (II Timothy 3:16,17)
2. God is love.  He is the beginning and the end.  He is our creator and has created all things.  He is holy, exalted above all creation, and righteous in all His ways.  The goodness of God endures continually, for He is good, and His mercy is everlasting.  (I John 4:8; Revelation 1:8; Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 57:15; Psalm 145:17; Psalm 52:1; Psalm 100:5.)
3. Man was created in the image of God, but all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  This sin has caused us to be separated from God.   (Genesis 1:26,27; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:2)
4. Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.  He is the image of the invisible God.  He and God the Father are one.  Jesus Christ offered Himself as the one sacrifice for all sins forever.  Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.  (Matthew 16:16; Colossians 1:15; John 10:30; Hebrews 10:12-14; I Corinthians 15:3,4)
5. God has provided the way for reconciliation through His grace and our faith in Jesus Christ for those who hear the gospel, who believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and who obey Him in accordance with the Scriptures in repentance, in confession of their faith in Jesus as the Christ, and in baptism by immersion.  (II Corinthians 5:18,19; Romans 10:17; Acts 16:31; John 14:15; Acts 2:38; Romans 10:9)
6. The person of the Holy Spirit is the mind of God working in the hearts and minds of believers.  His nature is love, and He indwells believers.  He convicts, comforts, and directs man to Christ-likeness.  He is the author of the Bible as He moved men to write about God, Christ, and the people's history of faith.  He gives spiritual gifts as He desires to the faithful to fulfill their task in the church.  The Holy Spirit changes man as man submits to the Lordship of Christ.  (I Corinthians 2:10-17 and 12:1-11; Romans 15:30; John 14:25 and 16:8-11; Acts 8:29 and 9:31; II Peter 1:19-21; Galatians 5:16-24)
7. Stonecreek exists to fulfill the great commission of reaching the lost in Matthew 28:18-20.  Our motto to this end is "PLUS ONE."  We are collectively existing to reach one person for Christ -- the next one.
